The National Library of Syria is a public institution founded in 1984 as the national arm for collecting, preserving and disseminating the Syrian intellectual and cultural heritage. The Library welcomes more than fifty thousand visitors each year and serves researchers from Syria, the Arab world and beyond.
It holds more than a million books, manuscripts and periodicals, alongside extensive archives of photographs, maps and audiovisual recordings, all progressively digitized and made available to readers.
