The National Library of Syria works to provide a digital experience accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.

Standards

We target compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at level AA.

Features currently supported

• Full keyboard navigation with landmarks for screen-reader users.
• Right-to-left layout support for Arabic with readable fonts.
• Alternative text for primary content images.
• Adequate colour contrast between text and backgrounds.
• Responsive font sizes that adapt to viewport and user preferences.

Continuous improvement

We carry out periodic accessibility audits and treat user feedback as one of our most important inputs.
